An A to Z of all things Breast Cancer

Uncertainty
Noun:
The lack of certainty, a state of limited knowledge where it is impossible to exactly describe the existing state, a future outcome, or more than one possible outcome.
I’m a bit of a planner. I always have 2 or 3 holidays in the planning, and most weekends are taken up with friends, family, or just days and nights out. I also juggle this with a full time job and looking after the house, kids and animals.
Then you get a ruddy great bomb explode into your life and everything goes tits up!
There is so much uncertainty. Not only around your long term health, but what treatments you are going to have, how you will react, will you be able to hold down your job, will you be able to pay the mortgage, how long are you going to be ill for?
You also never know when you are going to be feeling OK.
I reckon the best way to navigate it all is to cancel everything, but then have a load of things in your back pocket that you can do impulsively (whilst weaving around your various appointments and treatments) when you are feeling well.
We can worry about all the uncertainties, but we can’t really control them, so our worry is wasted.
And at the end of the day, we all know the only things certain in life are death and taxes!
