An excuse for a massive piss-up, just before a mastectomy operation.

 

When something is inevitable, and unavoidable, as unpleasant and scary as it may be, you might as well embrace it.  Milk it, some might say.  (Pardon the pun).

When an event such as The Cancer interrupts your life, you will find that support and friendship comes from unexpected angles.  Those closest to you are no-brainers. 

 

Partners, kids and closest friends will all rally around and prop you up.  Keep you sane and maintain the ‘normal’ in your life.  And then there will be colleagues, people down the pub and your wider circle of friends; some of who will feel awkward and distance themselves from you (and you from them) and others who will surprise you with enormous acts of support, generosity and kindness.

 

There are moments, where if you can step back, you will see how amazingly lucky you are to have these people in your life.

 

What better way to thank all of these wonderful people than to throw a Bye-Bye-Boobie party?!  Eat, drink and be merry, and enjoy what possibly may be your only legitimate excuse to sing along to the Bay City Rollers since 1975.
